summer border

Sometimes the camera works little unexpected wonders. It didn’t rain in a while and even though I water it religiously, my garden is not at its best. It took a little break from blooming, the heat and the drought took their toll. You couldn’t tell from this photograph, though, I find it hard to believe myself.

It is amazing what the lens sees, so much more than the eyes can. Of course the Casablanca lily is very photogenic, but still…

The great thing about lilies is that if they manage to escape the squirrels and the rabbits for the first couple of years they will make a very reliable blooming perennial. Their clumps grow bigger every year.
