beautiful shiny hair

When I was a child my grandmother picked walnut leaves and boiled them to use as a hair rinse. I can still feel that spicy fragrance during rainy summer afternoons when heavy drops rap strongly on the roof.

Some people recommend the black walnut leaves decoct as a herbal color enhancer. I don’t know about it actually changing the color, but the naturally occurring iodine has wonderful hair strengthening properties and the fragrance creates an ad-hoc home spa. Use it as a leave-in rinse if you have medium to dark brown hair. It will bring out gorgeous golden highlights and brilliant shine. If you have a walnut tree in your yard, by all means try this.
